These are insulated glass units that use special coated glass to provide both thermal and solar control simultaneously. According to new architectural trends, there are different types of glass with varying light transmission and solar protection features, designed to meet different performance expectations. Selectivity (Light Transmission % / Solar Factor) has become a performance-defining factor in new-generation solar low-e glass. The need to increase both light transmission and solar protection led to the development of double and triple silver-coated glass.

The tempering of Solar Low-E Glass requires tempering furnaces with convection-type heating. After tempering, the glass is processed in insulated glass (Isıcam) lines, where it undergoes a sequence of steps: glass washing, the application of butyl and placement of spacer bars filled with desiccant, pressing, and the application of secondary sealant using robotic systems.

These glass units are mostly used in commercial building facades (towers, plazas, airports, business centers, etc.) located in sunny and hot regions. High light transmission models are also used in residential buildings.
