Glass shells surrounding the elevator movement area offer a pleasant visual experience and, with their transparent structure, provide a calming and secure effect for users with claustrophobia. They are preferred for their modern and stylish appearance. Laminated glass is used for safety purposes in glass elevators. The positioning of the mounting holes and the dimensions of the glass are critical to avoid problems during installation. Alcam guarantees flawless installation with its high-precision edging machines and CNC drilling machines. Our products are manufactured in accordance with TS EN 12543 and TS EN 12150 standards and are tested in Alcam Laboratories.

For elevator shell glass, tempering is performed according to TS EN 12150-1, and upon request, Heat Soak Testing (HST) is applied according to TS EN 14179-1. The impact resistance of tempered glass is five times greater than that of annealed glass, and the Heat Soak Test is a destructive test that eliminates the risk of unexpected tempered glass breakages. Due to the precision required for installation, Alcam performs drilling operations in CNC drilling centers, ensuring the application of the most precise tolerances. In this way, Alcam produces high-quality elevator shell glass, ensuring that sensitive operations, such as drilling, do not cause issues during installation. Alcam uses Trosifol Ultra Clear PVB as standard in elevator shell glass and prefers Hard PVB or SentryGlasXtra (SGX) for enhanced safety requirements.
