Laminated glass with standard clear PVB is widely preferred for meeting safety and security requirements in many standard applications. Each layer has a thickness of 0.38mm and is used in multiples of 0.38mm during production. As an authorized Kuraray producer, Alcam uses Trosifol ULTRA CLEAR PVB as the standard PVB. This results in much clearer laminated glass with higher light transmittance. The yellowish tones often seen in regular PVB, which can affect the transparency and aesthetics of the glass, are eliminated with Trosifol ULTRACLEAR PVB. The Yellowness Index is minimized in Trosifol ULTRACLEAR compared to other products.

During the lamination process, two or more glass panes are bonded under high heat and pressure with an interlayer. These interlayers can be made of PVB or ionoplast (SGX). In a climate-controlled lamination room where temperature and humidity are constantly monitored, glass panels with PVB or SGP interlayers are preheated and bonded. They are then laminated in autoclave furnaces under appropriate heat and pressure based on the glass type, thickness, and the nature of the interlayer.
